Review:

This game doesn't really fully fall under the "survival horror" category, but I decided to put it on here anyway. I don't think this game is really meant to be too scary, but it is a bit scary for me at times. *blushes* Anyway, yeah, and in this game you have to jump around and do obstacle type things like platformer games (an aspect in games that usually I cannot stand *coughcoughtombraidercoughcough*), but this game makes it alright I guess. It's not too irritating to fall down and get back up again.

The gfx in this game are really good, I think they did a pretty good job on the GC version, I haven't seen how the other ported versions look on the XBOX or PS2, however. The game has facial expressions and the boobies jiggle a bit too, so that's a plus. Also, the hair does that sort of flowy thing, you know. So that's good too. The camera angle turns quite a bit though, this game is one of those games where it keeps the main char in the center of the screen, so whenever you have to turn around the whole room spins. I got a bit motion sick one of the first times I played it. I guess it takes a little getting used to, but I'm not too dreadfully affected by motion sickness. I wouldn't recommend it to those who are, however.

The sound effects in this game are alright. The only thing, though, is that there are only so many sayings that BloodRayne goes through when attacking monsters/people, so they can get a bit old after about the first 20 times. Also, the lines that they gave her in the game, like when she's talking to someone or something, can be a bit corny at times and you wish that maybe they would have found a better way for her to say it. Kinda got that Buffy-sarcasm thing going on, you know what I mean?

Anyway, yeah, this game is a pretty good game. It's not, however, the BEST GAME EVER. Yeah, no. It's somewhere up there, but not quite at the top. I wouldn't mind too terribly playing the game over if I could find the time, so that's why it has some replay value to it. Definitely a game to at least rent. I think that it can get a bit tedious and some people might not like that too much, but you could at least try it, right? Can't knock it till you try it.
